Ingredients:
- 🍞 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 🥄 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 🧂 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 🧈 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 🧀 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 🥛 3/4 cup milk (whole milk or buttermilk)
- 🧄 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
For the Topping:
- 🧈 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 🧄 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 🌿 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
- Add butter: Cut in the cold, cubed butter with a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add cheese and milk: Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, then add the milk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; the dough should be slightly sticky.
- Form biscuits: Drop the dough by spoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet, forming about 10-12 biscuits.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
- Prepare the topping: While the biscuits are baking, mix the melted butter with garlic powder and dried parsley.
- Brush and serve: Once the biscuits are done, brush the tops with the garlic butter mixture. Serve warm.
