Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 1/2 cups M&M candies
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan:
  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • Line a 9×13 inch bak ing pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  1. Combine Dry Ingredients:
  • In a small bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  1. Mix Butter and Sugars:
  • In a larger bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until well blended.
  1. Add Eggs and Vanilla:
  • Beat in the vanilla, egg, and egg yolk until light and creamy.
  1. Combine with Dry Ingredients:
  • Mix in the sifted ingredients until just blended.
  1. Stir in M&Ms and Nuts:
  • Fold in the M&M candies and nuts, if using.
  1. Spread the Dough:
  • Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared pan.
  1. Bake:
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are lightly toasted.
  • Cool in the pan on a wire rack.
  1. Serve:
  • Cut into bars and serve either warm or at room temperature.
